Objective: The DITTE project aims to develop and pilot an integrated training package to support students of education and special needs education, with the aim of improving their ability to provide counselling, guidance and educational support to children with disabilities and adjustment difficulties.

 

The ultimate aim is to promote the inclusion and active participation of children with disabilities in the educational environment by empowering future education professionals.

 

Target Groups of the Project:

  • Students in teacher training departments
  • Special education students
  • Teachers in initial or continuing training
  • Academics and organisations active in the education of people with disabilities

Results: Through transnational cooperation and field research, the project aims to:

  • Development and pilot implementation of teaching materials: The teaching materials focus on counselling practices in special education and are tailored to the needs of students preparing to work with pupils with disabilities.
  • Documentation and analysis of good practices: Collection of examples from different educational settings to enhance quality teaching and inclusion.
  • Strengthening the skills and attitudes of future teachers: Through experiential learning, case studies and the use of new technologies, the project aims to improve students’ understanding of the needs of children with disabilities and to enhance their counselling competence.

The DITTE project aims to create a useful tool for both higher education and lifelong learning providers working with children with disabilities.
