Objective: The DREAM project aims to support teachers by creating user-friendly and easy-to-read educational tools, combining simple language and graphic support. The aim is to promote inclusion and improve the learning experience for pupils and young people with difficulties in reading, comprehension or concentration.

 

Target Groups of the Project:

  1. Teachers and trainers:
  • Who work with students with comprehension difficulties and/or disabilities.
  • Who are looking for ways to make educational material more accessible and understandable.
  • Who are interested in incorporating innovative tools into their teaching practice.
  1. Students/learners with difficulties:
  • Young people with intellectual or psychosocial disabilities, learning difficulties, sensory impairments, or insufficient language skills.
  • People with concentration, memory or writing difficulties.
  • At least 50% of participants in the pilot actions belong to these groups.

 

Results: 

Development of practical tools for easy reading and support for teachers working with young people with intellectual, visual or hearing impairments, cognitive or psychological disorders, those who are illiterate, or those who do not speak the local language. More specifically

 

Teacher’s Guide (Easyread & Drawned): Includes best practices, plain language guidelines and visual presentation techniques for more accessible lessons.

Student Handbook: A tool to support students with visual notation techniques and simpler understanding of lessons.

Model lesson in Social Responsibility (RSE): A lesson designed according to the principles of easy-to-read and graphic facilitation, which is being implemented in three countries.

International pilot implementation & dissemination: More than 150 students and 40 teachers will participate in the implementation and evaluation of the tools, whilst the material will be made available free of charge online in 3 languages (FR, EL, PL).
